The Salvation Army works to meet human need, guided by faith in God and love for all people. We will always strive to bring comfort to the needy, while our proclamation of God’s redemptive love offers individuals and communities the opportunity to enjoy a better life on earth and a place in Christ’s everlasting Kingdom.
Years ago William Booth, co-founder of The Salvation Army with his wife, Catherine Mumford Booth, coined the phrase, “Heart to God and Hand to Man” which identifies who we are and what we do across this great nation and around the world. More than ever, in the name of Jesus, we aim to “Give Hope Today” to all who will receive it.
The Salvation Army is first and foremost a church: and through the love that Christ first showed us, we show love to others.
The Salvation Army Canada and Bermuda Territory has four core values:
Hope: We give hope through the power of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Service: We reach out to support others without discrimination.
Dignity: We respect and value each other, recognizing everyone’s worth.
Stewardship: We responsibly manage the resources entrusted to us.
